3 Top Luxury Wedding Venues in London or within 3 hours of London

Updated: Jan 30, 2020

As a wedding stationery designer, I get to see and hear about a lot of beautiful wedding venues. And why not share those discoveries with you? Here are three gorgeous wedding venues not too far from London.

This exclusive use wedding venue is a gorgeous Georgian mansion set within 100 acres of parkland. A fun fact about Hedsor House is that it's home to a herd of Highland cattle. They're well looked after and the team even make their own hay for the cattle to eat! Priding themselves on caring for the environment too, they've planted over 4000 trees over the last 25 years... (The human team have, not the cows, though that would be even more impressive!) One of the things I love about this wedding venue is how it feels incredibly luxurious yet has a homely feel and has been owned by the same family for the last 85 years. Hedsor House is just a 30 minute drive to London's M25.

Within 50 acres of land in the Windsor forest; boasting a Michelin star restaurant, and just a stone's throw from London, Great Fosters combines contemporary features with historical beauty. The landscaped gardens are one of the finest Arts and Crafts gardens in Europe and the house even has a moat that was built in the 6th century. It's a gorgeous place to get married, both inside and out! Great Fosters is just at the edge of the Greater London border.

This venue is simply stunning. It was once a monastrey in the 14th century, it's now described as a fairytale wedding venue and I couldn't agree more. Its gothic architecture is breathtaking, and the decorative exterior is so detailed and ornate. Its interior has been thoughtfully designed, showing off its original features boldly and proudly, while still having a bohemian and contemporary feel. At a 2 and a half hour drive from central London, it's the furthest from London on this list, but looks absolutely worth the journey for. Nearby of note, is Pump Street Bakery, who make the most delicious chocolate; Orford Castle and of course the wonderful Suffolk coast with its lovely beaches and pretty coastal villages and towns.
